The Albion Arms in Ampthill and Acoustic Avenue is joining in with the tributes to John Peel and having a selection of some of the best local bands playing acoustic for you...

Come along..!

31/08/2006 - East End Valley Festival

What a weekend.. we played at 6pm on Saturday night. I think our job was to get everyone wound up for the evening ahead with good 'ol fashioned, in your face rock... Mission accomplished !

Seem to remember people jumping round like they'd not been assaulted with pounding drums n bass under distorted guitars n cutting vocals before, well they have now...

A big thanks to the East End Valley crew for putting it all on and having us to open their Saturday night..Be sure to visit their site and see all of the bands that played, all well worth going to see, if you haven't already, if you have.. Go Again...

25/08/2006 - East End Valley Festival

Another freat gig, well enjoyed by all of us.. Even if it was a bit fekin hot.. Played well and ad a great time, thanks to all that came n saw us.

Got some good videos of the night thanks to Mike, you can see them on our Media page or Myspace or Youtube..

Also well played to Gain and NGF.

15/07/2006 - Esquires - Bedford

Come see us play on the second floor at the Esquires Bedford on Friday 21st July. We will be supporting the mighty NGF along with a couple of other bands.. A big shout there, will be a good night...

31/05/2006 - get in there Albion Arms...

cracking stuff, not a half bad recording from the gig, have found best listened to on headphones n balanced right a bit... the Albion is always a pleasure to play at, they're all nuts n had it like i've not seen the like of before Sunday night, what a weekend... Proof is on the media page. that's about it till the next one..

19/05/2006 - The Hob Goblin - Bedford

A cracking gig, supporting the mighty New Groove Formation. I think that was the first time we supported them and was a great night. Well played boys

Levels were high overall, i think we had our ear drums burst from minute one by phil 'the powerhouse ;)' hammond, so we all cranked it up...naturally ? even due to the best efforts of the bleary eyed soundman trying to get you mothers to turn down a bit. don't expect that ever to change.... looking forward to the next one, if you boys can take the pasting that is, heheh...we love you really.

Not a bad turn out and a big thanks to Amytville for turning up. Same goes for the rest of you nutters.I think we even had the old bill ask us to turn down at one point, excellent !

A night of going from excited to nervous to stressed to chiled in the space of an hour or two, there is never a dull moment with either of these bands, look forward to bigger and better things..

Go to our guestbook and post your ramblings after a night out, getting trolleyed, listening to us. Thank you.... come again...!

13/05/2006 - Bowfinger - The Albion Arms Ampthill

Is the third time i've seen these guys and like them more and more each time. Granted, the first time i was far too nutted to appreciate anything, but their songs quickly grow on you.

They will be playing alongside a massive selection of good bands at the 'Pasque Fest' on the August bank holiday weekend..

The Albion Arms Ampthill is a nice venue to play, you are nice and close to the baying pissed crowd, always a bonus.... well played guys..

And happy birthday to my little sis, she's 29 this year ;D

06/05/2006 - New Groove Formation

Went to see the boys at the Nags Head tonight, well played. The place had more band members in than potential participants....was getting worrying, until they started playing then the place seemed to fill up somewhat. as usual they had everyon jumping around like their life depended on it, love it...also, welcome back to lewis, good to see him back in his spot....

17/04/2006 - Band Meet....

We met up the pub... and drank beer, smoked... and etc.

05/03/2006 - Next Gig...

There seems to be a general consensus to wait a while before the next gig, covers are getting a bit boring to be the only content in the set and we have a momentum in writing new stuff at the moment.

Dave n Twon got together this week and have polished off a song that has been in the making for a while, working title 'dogfight'.Steve n I also had a jam tonight and got one of his ideas down, sounding good and pretty much a full new song.

Am planning on ring up The Music Centre this week and see what is available for the nearish future if everyone is up for jamming through these new ones some in the next couple of weeks.

Phil n I gigged with New Groove Formation on Saturday, well phil done most of the gigging as he was drumming, I just helped with the sound. Dave's monitors certainly passed the test that night, loud, of a good quality and doing as much work as the PA. Quinnie comes through once again and with a very good night, their new bass absolutely kicked ass. Though, how Phil played the second half, with the alcohol to blood level he was holding, i will never know..

We should be getting up to six songs of our own as soon as they come out and next gig will be somewhere a bit larger, was well cramped at the last one for everyone. Have been told we can get a set in at The Esquires on one of the Saturdays when there are loads of bands on, also loads of venues round Bedford that are gagging for us to come n forcibly remove their roof and upper floors with chug, flapping tom rolls n beer stealing bass bsshz.... We will mail everyone when we have the next date sorted..

13/02/2006 - The Albion Arms - Saturday Night

Another great gig, thanks for coming everyone, well almost everyone. Someone couldn't take the rock being hailed down on them and had to pissedly attempt a fight.

Fight at our gigs and we will attack. Check out the gallery and see if you can spot the offender drooling beer down himself.

The band all agreed it was a strange night, wether the full moon had anything to do with whipping everyone up into a frenzy, maybe it was the gallons of booze consumed, still was a great gig, enjoyed by all....

The girls had a suprise for us with the t-shirts, they looked good, nice one.

We got a good recording of the night and will get the highlights on here this week, you can hear yourselves singing along, I saw a lot of jumping about, good to see everyone enjoying it.

Next gigs will be coming up soon, we're gonna be playing around Bedford for a while then wherever they'll have us... Finally, big thanks to Russ, Pam n the rest of the guys at the Albion.
